This historical photo features Swami Vivekananda with his brother-disciples and other devotees at the Baranagore Math in 1897. Shortly after the mahasamadhi of their Master, Sri Ramakrishna in 1886, Swami Vivekananda and a few other brother disciples shifted to this dilapidated rented house at Baranagore to stay together as a group and to practise intense spiritual austerities , marking, as it were, the genesis of the Ramakrishna Order.
