Swami Omkarananda - Vice President - Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission (1966-1973)

Swami Omkarananda, an esteemed Vice-President of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, was a direct disciple of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, having received initiation from her. He dedicated many years to serving as the head of the Kankurgachhi Yogodyan, fostering a spiritual environment for aspirants. Elected Vice-President in 1966, he became a pillar of the Order, providing spiritual guidance and upholding the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna and Holy Mother. Swami Omkarananda was particularly renowned for his insightful and scholarly lectures on The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, which deeply enriched the understanding of devotees. His life exemplified a profound blend of contemplation and active service, connecting countless individuals to the Holy Trio's message from Belur Math until his Mahasamadhi in 1973. He remains a significant figure in the RKMM lineage.
