Product Details
The whole philosophy of Patañjali’s Yoga is based on four fundamental principles. The Ultimate Reality consists of two categories known as Puruṣa and Prakṛti: the identification of Puruṣa and Prakṛti is the cause of bondage and the separation of Puruṣa from Prakṛti is Liberation, known as Kaivalya. Puruṣa appears in the Yoga Sūtras as the draṣṭā (Seer or witness). The text outlines that Puruṣas are innumerable while Prakṛti is only one. This volume is divided into three parts: Part I Introduction, Part II Basic Principles of Patañjali’s Yoga Darśana, and Part III Saṁsāra-Cakra, guiding the reader through the essential metaphysics of Yoga.
