The Call of the Spirit: Conversations with Swami Akhandananda

This book presents the conversations with Swami Akhandananda, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna and the third president of the Ramakrishna Order, as recorded by his disciple and personal attendant, Swami Niramayananda. It is an English translation of the conversations recorded in Bengali and covers the period from 1935 to 1937. The conversations, for the most part, deal with the theory and practice of spiritual life, besides several reminiscences of Akhandananda about Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda and others.
