K S V Padmanabhan –
Bought this ‘great life-guiding document’ (God’s Gift/Blessings) on 7th Jan, 2003 at Vivekanandar Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari (Rs.25/- then, priceless indeed!), having studied in Sri Ramakrishna Mission Schools (South), Chennai 17 (6th to 10th during 1973-78), it is the Gift from my Masters Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsar, Sarada Mata, Swami Vivekananda. Gratitude to Swami Swarupananda and Advaita Asharama always. Sarvam Sri Vasudeva Swaroopam. Om Tat Sat.
Ronald Barnstone –
this is a superb translation.
the difficult and impossible to translate Sanskrit technical terms are left in Sanskrit. then again some technical terms are translated but then explained in the accompanying notes to the particular shloka. and then again the cadence of the translation is in a very lordly Victorian English.
Ronald Barnstone –
I should have also added to my review that the accompanying notes to the shlokas are very very helpful in understanding the meaning of the Gita. It is obvious that Swami Swarupananda is a highly realized human being.
