The character-force of a dynamic personality speaks louder than a hundred books.
Children may not do as told to do, but will certainly do as we do.
Parents and teachers are the inescapable role models for a growing child. Hence, value education is not just student-centric; it includes and begins with parents and teachers. These elders have to first practice in their own lives, the values they desire to see in their children and students. The current value education modules emphasize on morality. Spirituality, which is the foundation of all other values including morality, is unfortunately labelled as religious values and sidelined. But spirituality is the essence of every religion, and unless it becomes the basis and framework of our national education, the moral vigour of our society is bound to remain unstable.
This book is an attempt to convey these ideas to parents and teachers. There are also practical suggestions for cultivating values in both elders and children. A number of monks of the Ramakrishna Order, and some academicians were involved in the preparation of this book.
